8th Day of Christmas: Delight in the Lord

Delight yourself in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him, and he will act. -Psalm 37:4b-5a

Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my salvation and my God. - Psalm 42:5

a picture of a christmas tree is still appropriate, right? ;)
This Christmas, be reminded to find your delight in Jesus. There are so many competing interests trying to pull us away from our true love. Our very souls NEED to worship God. If you're finding that you aren't being satisfied this year with Christmas movies, baking, decorating, parties, and everything else, there's probably a lack of worship in your life. Looking at Psalm 42, David realized that what he needed more than anything was to get back into God's presence. Since that's the reason for this season, I encourage you to do the same! If you're worried about a quiet time distracting you from getting everything done, look back at 37:5a - commit your way to the Lord, and He will act. Trust that if you're wholly found in Him, He will provide everything you need.
